Here’s the other pic I’m using to break up my page. Ever since I went to the ISSE show my creative side is kinda reawakening. So when I took this photo … I just saw all that was wrong with the photo at least in my eyes but I really did like the composition of it and thought it looked cool. I only wished I did a better job for my primo who was my model. Now after seeing it again I like it for the imperfections I mean at this point I dig the imperfections in photos it’s more interesting… after all …who’s perfect?

You know I decided since no one really reads anymore I will use my instagram in the comment section as a journal… I don’t know why I didn’t think of it sooner but … go figure🤷🏽.. so about this pic I took it at the ISSE 2022 show. After working many shows.. I with my hair ride or die.. the talented @whitneyvermeer … we decided to go as spectators. I was nervous and didn’t understand why … well it’s been a few days so I can reflect and realized it’s becuz a hair show was the place to go to get inspired.. maybe get a deal on some stuff but mostly it was to go and get inspired with and from my people! The ones who know and can relate to this profession of doing hair. It was our carnival made by and for us. Those who worked these shows were carnys. Yes.. I am proud to be one. So .. I was nervous that it wouldn’t be the same. After all things are kinda crazy in the world…. I really wanted it to be the same so bad… yet I was realistic. It was smaller for sure but after walking around a bit and saw some familiar faces… it started to feel a little like I remember. Not the same for sure for various reasons but you know what didn’t change …. though it was small it was there… 🔥🔥 a fire of passionate people who are trying to figure out the future of shows and education. Education that is sustainable to outlast trends or fads. A hope of a new beginning maybe it’s the romantic in me but that’s what I saw and felt. To those who were there and the “carnys” 😂 who worked it via a booth or teaching ….. THANK YOU. I’m really glad I went. Got to talk to some really cool, talented people….Also @hairbrained_official put on a great show!

You know I originally didn’t like this photo I took. Started to go through some old stuff and came across this and another photo where I was playing around with lighting and shadows. Using color instead of black & white which I usually dig more. Funny as times goes by what you didn’t like then in the past … now you think you know that’s kinda cool. I think I’ll post the other red hair post where I tried playing with lighting and shadows. It will break up the page a bit. Change is good.

This was a cut I did on stage at a show a few years back. Being on stage was always a rush. I highly recommend anybody to work a hair show at least once to see all the work it takes to get one done.
